DRVT Statement on the Death of George Floyd

George Floyd’s death is another tragic case of racist harassment, assault, and murder. Systemic racism is deeply woven into our nation’s justice system, and it must end.

People with disabilities are found in all races. The fight for racial equality is our fight. Disability Rights Vermont stands on the side of those who condemn systemic racism and demands racial equality.

Disability Rights Vermont calls for prompt and comprehensive revisions of social structures to overcome systemic racism. We will continue to promote equality and demand a barrier-free, inclusive place where each Vermonter is valued and treated equally.

Together, we must act now and do better. Black lives matter.
